Have your cake and eat it too. This is my all time favorite breakfast, whole wheat french toast & homemade medjool date syrup. Serve it up with some fresh fruit on the side and you'll be one happy person.
What you'll need:
What to do:
Whisk together the egg white and almond milk and put it in a zip lock bag with the toast, letting it soak for at least 5 minutes (the longer the better). Place it on a sprayed pan and cook until the toast is stiff, making sure to flip in between. For the syrup, it's as simple as placing the date and the water in a small pot and bring to a boil, stirring the entire time. The date should break up and melt and once it looks like a syrup it's done :). Tastes great with banana slices and fresh blueberries.
What you'll need:
- 2 slices whole wheat bread ( I used the brand Butter Top, what ever I had in my fridge)
- 1 egg white
- 2 tbsp almond milk unsweetened
- 1 medjool date
- 1/4 cup water
